Foi Thong is a traditional Thai desserts.It is popularly made on propitious occasion because It is yellow or golden threads, which look like many gold necklace.The word 'Thong' which means gold.In belief of Thais,Gold symbolizes fame, wealth and riches forever. Foi Thong made from egg yolks.The flavor is very sweet.
Ingredients of Foi Thong :
1. 5 Yolks of Hen Eggs
2. 10 Yolks of Duck Eggs
3. Water from floating flowers 5 Cups
4. Sugar 5 Cups
How to Make Foi Thong :
1. Put all the yolks on a piece of thin white cloth, fold it up, and squeeze the cloth to filter the yolks through it.
2. To make syrup,add sugar and water from floating flowers heat in a brass pan. And wait until the sugar dissolve. When syrup boiling, low the heat and put yolks in a cone above the pan.Drop the yolks into a circle 15 -20 round per one time. When it’s cook,the yolks will become golden threads.Then use toothpick to collect and fold until layers. Stay on the wire rack.And it is ready for serving.
